“I have loved my music lessons this year! I play two instruments. One instrument is the guitar, and the other is the piano. Piano is fun because I can play my own music. My teacher is also great. We have a lot of fun together. I think that piano has really helped me with guitar, too. I want to become a really good pianist so I can play while my brother sings. The guitar is fun because it is portable, and you can really jam! I like piano because I learn a new thing every time I come. I like guitar because I learn cool things such as “Sweet Home Alabama”, “Back in Black”, and “When the Saints Go Marching In”. Piano and guitar are both really fun. I am glad that I decided to start playing both. I hope that I never have to pick just one because I probably could not choose!”

“The thing I love the most is the friends I make in ballet, including my instructors. Every year in ballet, I have made at least one new friend. Most years, I get to reconnect with friends from my last year’s class. We get to keep learning and sharing more about ballet. It is fun to be with my friends and get better together. Even though ballet is not a team sport, we learn about working together. I am always thrilled about getting to be on stage, too. I get so excited! I get butterflies in my stomach, but it is still my favorite part of ballet. I love the lights. I love having all my family there watching me. It is what we work for all year. I get to have the chance to show everyone all of the things I have learned. I know that not everyone loves ballet like me. My mom says ballet is my passion. I just know that I cannot imagine not getting to do ballet. Most of my friends do a lot of activities, but I only want to do ballet!”

“Dance makes me feel Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and it make me feel good inside! If I think about dance during school, it makes me feel like screaming, in a good way! That is how excited I get if I think about dancing at school. Dance has helped me to not be shy. I like Northeast Georgia School of Music and Dance because I get to make friends, and sometimes, I get to bring friends. They also have lots of dancing classes, even ballroom dancing. I like NEGSMD! It really rocks!”

“I like music because it’s like a secret language. Only musicians can figure out the notes, like is it an A, D, or F, and the symbols, like is it a sharp or is it legato? When you understand and are able to read this musical language, you can play it for people to enjoy. I am a guy that loves to build things. That is why I love music because you can put notes together and make a song. I feel like I am building something. Not just something you can look at, but something that you can hear and feel.”

“I love every week when it is time to come to ballet. I am always so excited because I love to dance with all my new friends that I have made here at the dance school. We always have so much fun learning all the new moves and dances. I love to perform all the new dance moves that I have learned at home for my family and friends. I wish that everyone could take dance lessons. I always love every year when it is time for the recital. It is so much fun! When I am in my costume on the stage dancing, I feel like I’m in a whole different world. I feel like a real princess. That’s what my parents call me anyway. I love the dance school because of all I have learned, and because all the teachers and staff are so nice to everyone. Thank you for having the school where dreams do come true.”

“I remember walking into my first dance class when I was five years old. I was nervous, but very excited. I would meet new friends and have fun. That is almost all it was about then, but as I became older, I loved dancing and the way it made me feel, more and more. Now dance is my life. I walk into all of my dance classes excitedly, like on that first day! And when a dance is put together for the final show, I get butterflies in my stomach. I cannot wait to perform for everyone, and show them what I have learned and how much fun I have had practicing my dance. Dancing is so important to me because I express myself in any way I want. As a dancer, I feel stronger and confident in everyday life.”

“I love to dance because it makes me feel like a princess. I love to dress in my tights and ballet shoes. When I am dancing, I spin, leap, and twirl just like a princess does. I can dance for hours on end because dancing makes me so happy. I can dance until it is time for momma and daddy to tuck me in, and even then, I dream about dancing some times. When I go to dance class, I look forward to seeing all my friends. When I get home from class, I always show my momma and daddy what I learned in class. Sometimes, I just dance and dance even to the songs on American Idol. I laugh and sing as I leap and spin and sometimes, I just dance to the music in my heart. There is nothing that really bothers me when I am dancing, and when I am dancing, I am as free as I can be. The reason I love to dance is just plain and simple. I dance because it makes me happy.”

“I take dance classes at Northeast Georgia School of Music and Dance. My teacher tells me that stretching makes me strong, flexible, and keeps me healthy. In my class, I have a mirror that I can see myself in. I can see my dance moves and my pretty ballet clothes. I also like dance because at the end of the year, I have a recital. I get to wear beautiful costumes and makeup. I like being on the stage because I get to see everyone watching me. Sometimes, I get stage fright because I don not want to make a mistake. I know that I just do my best and believe in myself. I feel happy because I love to dance, and I really enjoy being there. It is important to me because it helps me to be strong and encourages me and others. All these things I have learned help me to be a great dancer and a strong person!”

“Our daughter has taken ballet at Northeast Georgia School of Music and Dance for the past 5 years. She absolutely loves ballet! She has received outstanding instruction from her teachers. I feel the small class size has also been a great benefit. I understand that she has accomplished a lot in her classes. I just know that the self-confidence and delight she feels from doing something she loves, is priceless!”
