T. J. Pattillo
T.J. has been studying the guitar since the age of 4. He studied
Classical and Jazz under some the world's leading guitarist including
master classes with Lily Afsher and Scott Tennant. He has also studied
with Bill Hart and Jackie Little (Elvis Presley and George Jones). He
has toured with many groups in the styles of Rock, Jazz, Swing, and
Country. His performance experience includes some of Atlanta's
prominent morning shows and a Swing festival at Sun Life Stadium .
T.J. has been teaching guitar for 9 years. His goal with each
student is not only to make the lesson fun, but to lay out a plan to
make each student a well rounded musician. He states, "Today's
guitarist has a lot of neat effects at hand and can make the guitar sound
amazing. This has lead the guitar to being more of a special effects
device than an instrument. What I don't hear anymore is the guitarist
taking advantage of this harmonically rich instrument. One of my main
goals as a teacher is to open the fretboard up to the students ears to
increase their creative abilities".
